The State Government has announced that is has reached agreements with train operator Keolis Downer Adelaide and tram operator Torrens Connect to return Adelaide Metro train and tram services to Government operation.

Train operator Keolis Downer Adelaide and tram operator Torrens Connect will hand back operational functions by January 2025 and July 2025 respectively, ensuring a safe and efficient transition.

The changes will not impact Adelaide Metro passengers, with train and tram services continuing to operate as normal throughout the transition period.

There will be no changes to Adelaide's East West, North South, Outer North or Outer North East bus operations which will continue to be operated locally by Torrens Transit.

Under the agreements, maintenance operations will continue to be managed by Torrens Connect and Keolis Downer. Keolis Downer will also continue to provide customer and security services to 2027.
